
Two days ago, Magistrate Khadeem Palmer charged nineteen-year-old Tyree Gentle with kept firearm and ammunition without a gun license. He pled not guilty and was remanded to prison until May 14. Police saw him dispose of a nine-millimeter pistol while driving a motorcycle on George Street on Monday. Police believe that the firearm was used in the shooting of 24-year-old Tyrone Guy on Monday night while at the Corner of Waight and Fairweather Streets.ASP Alejandro Cowo explained why he was only charged with firearm offenses.

“It was two persons on the motorcycle however at the time of the apprehension police only saw one of them on the motorcycle disposing of the said firearm that was found. He was only charged for the firearm at this moment we are still trying to convince the victim to come forward to give a formal report to the police. Up to now, he has not given any statement to the police so that we could continue with the investigation.”
Guy was shot in his calf.
