As the UDP prepares for the municipal elections next month, this may be the last municipals that Party leader Dean Barrow will lead. As has been reported before he has announced his intention of retiring. Today he told the media that notwithstanding the results of the municipal elections, his retirement is imminent.
Dean Barrow – UDP Party Leader
“I have to go as you know in time certainly for the next general elections and I have not made any secret of the fact that I must go early enough to allow my successor a chance to lead the party into the 2020 general elections as Prime Minister. When exactly, how much space that will require and when exactly I go is still a matter that I have to agree with the party.”
