Prime Minister Dean Barrow today announced that he will not complete his parliamentary term. He is scheduled to travel out of the country next week to see a physician for consultation for a surgery and stem cell treatment for his back problem. Barrow has long been considering whether or not he undergoes surgery and if he does so, he would be out of the country for about three weeks and when he returns, he would not be back in office until months later. This is why he has been trying to postpone the surgery but according to Barrow, it is becoming problematic. And so he has begun preparations for making way for his successor as the Leader of the United Democratic Party which is expected to hold its leadership convention in May 2019.
