On March 7, Belizeans went to the polls and elected a new cohort of officials to govern our municipalities. Today was the first of a two-day workshop held by the Ministry of Labour, Local Government and Rural Development. At the workshop, the elected officials are being familiarized with the processes and procedures that are relevant to their new post. Love News spoke with the Local Government Officer, Clifford King who explains.

The PUP won three of the nine municipalities including the most coveted municipality, Belize City. The newly elected Mayor of Belize City, Bernard Wagner, shared how the workshop is helping him transition into his new role.

The municipal workshop is being held under the theme “Promoting Good Governance and Integrity in Political Office for Local Government in Belize.
