The Ministry of Public Service Looking to Improve its Employee Assistance Program

The Ministry of Public Service is looking to improve its employee assistance program. According to Minister Henry Usher, this endeavor is part of their contribution to the 16 Days of Activism, with an aim to improve the mental health of public officers.

Henry Charles Usher, Minister of Public Service, Constitutional and Political Reform: “We’re putting in place the employee assistance program is a program operated by the Ministry of Public Service but we want to expand that program because right now its’ really just counseling, trying to deal with public officers who have issues at home or mentally and so on but we have to do more within that EAP program and that’s why at this strategic session next week we hope to have a better plan forward, we hope to have better ideas as to how we can combat those silent issues those cases of abuse that we know are happening but they are suffering in silence.”
