A mother of La Democracia Village is reaching out to the media and the authorities for help in locating her teenaged daughter. 14-year-old, Aaliyah Martinez of Sadie Vernon High School was last seen by her mom, Dorita Bardalez when she left home on Friday, March 31 to take the bus to Belize City.
“She came to school on Friday and she didn’t return. Up to yesterday I haven’t received any call; nobody has seen her or know where she is. Her sister came to school on Monday and she didn’t see her sister at school. She said she doesn’t know where her sister is. She went to school on Friday morning; she and her sister caught the school bus. The older sister is Trinity Martinez and Aliyah Martinez.”
According to the young girl’s mother, Aaliyah’s life was threatened recently.
“About last week some girls were fighting with her and a girl hit her and they told Trinity that they would kill her and take her to the burying ground. I don’t know what happened.”
“Did you report that to the teacher or the principal?”
“Yes the principal already knows and everybody already knows what happened.”
“So did they speak to the persons who threatened to kill her?”
“Well one of the young ladies that goes to their school the police already spoke to her but they didn’t get to two of them, they didn’t find two of them that threatened her.”
The family is asking the public to call six-zero-one-three-four-five-six if you know where Aaliyah is or if you have sighted her since Friday morning.
