14-year-old minor raped; police say there are several versions of the story

Two women and a minor in Cayo District were victims of rape over the weekend. The first occurred on Friday night in Camalote Village, when a 14-year-old went to visit someone in the village but the person was not at home.

Two women and a minor in Cayo District were victims of rape over the weekend. The first occurred on Friday night in Camalote Village, when a 14-year-old went to visit someone in the village but the person was not at home. Knowing how to access the friend’s house, she went inside and did not notice that a Hispanic man was following her. She reported that the man then forced her inside the house and raped her. According to Assistant Commissioner of Police, Joseph Myvette, no one has been charged and there are several versions of the story.

ACP Joseph Myvette, National Crimes Investigation Branch: The police is currently conducting an investigation. During the investigation we have found out that there are several versions to the story, that male person was detained and later released while the investigation is ongoing. A medical examination was done in respect to the investigation.”
