16 calls and no police response to robbery turned shooting incident

CDS Gas Station

Long after closing hours, extreme violence was brought upon two men who were at the CDS Gas Station on the Boom Road. The gas station closes at 6 p.m. but at 3:30 a.m. Sunday morning, the watchman Andres Gomez was performing his duties on site. He was not alone, as a neighbor from a home at an adjacent property, Daniel Tillett was keeping him company. However, three masked men interrupted the quiet of the night when the pulled out firearms on them. For 30 minutes, the two men were subdued as the masked men broke into the building and ransacked the small office building of the gas station. The scenario was not finished as both Gomez and Tillett were then kidnapped and taken by vehicle down the highway. The watchman was shot once. He has since been treated and released from the hospital. However, the neighbor Daniel Tillett was shot five times and he is in a critical condition at the hospital. But could it all have been prevented? The building does have several cameras inside and outside the building, which have been turned over to the police. However, from 3:30 a.m. to 4:07 a.m. sixteen calls were made to 911. No one answered. A source close to the gas station says that if the police had answered the call, perhaps the thieves could have been caught before the two men were injured.
