Special Envoy for Women and Children in collaboration with McNab Visual Strategies launched the twenty-twenty Inspiration Calendar and agenda at the Inspiration Centre today. Twelve children with special needs were chosen to draw a picture to insert in the Calendar. Kim Simplis Barrow, Special Envoy for Women and Children mentioned that this event is in commemoration of Disability Awareness Week.
Kim Simplis Barrow, Special Envoy for Women and Children: “Today we launched the calendar and the agenda, our 2020 agenda. The calendar actually is the summer activity for our children with disabilities and they do their paintings and we feature them in the calendar and their paintings. It’s a very inspiring day really to see how creative our children with disabilities are. It’s a time to honor them, to honor their hard work and to acknowledge that they’re part of our society and that we need to work and move towards a more inclusive society. We have our database of kids who come to the center to get the therapy and so once they come and we also work with the community based rehabilitation officer so they know children who are from Dangriga, Corozal, Toledo and so we try to make it a countrywide selection.”
The Inspiration Centre also received a cheque amounting to seventeen thousand five hundred dollars from McNab Visual Strategies for its daily administrative use.
