27-year-old Nimrod Fitzgibbon, who was charged with dangerous harm and use of deadly means of harm, was today committed to stand trial in the January 2020 session of the Supreme Court. A preliminary inquiry was held before Senior Magistrate Aretha Ford where the police prosecutor presented all the evidence against Fitzgibbon. At the end of the preliminary inquiry, it was established that there is a prima facie case against Fitzgibbon. It is alleged that on September 2, 2018, Fitzgibbon shot Algernon Lopez while he was riding his bicycle on Neal Pen Road in Belize City. Fitzgibbon was offered bail in the sum of seven thousand five hundred dollars plus two sureties.
