A road traffic incident that occurred this morning took the life of one man and injured his two passengers. 43-year-old Dorian Anthony was travelling on the George Price Highway with 57-year-old Gary Trapp and Dawn Meyers when he lost control of the vehicle around Mile 12. This caused the vehicle to crash into a 40-foot trailer that was parked outside of Softy Toilet Paper Factory. Anthony died on impact, and the two passengers were hospitalized with various injuries. Anthony’s niece, Britney Card, stated that his death comes as a shock to the family.
Britney Card, Niece of Deceased: “This morning when I woke up I got a call from my mom and she asked me if I heard that my uncle got caught in an accident and that one of them died but they weren’t sure who it was and then like ten minutes after or so my cousin called me and told me that m uncle died. He was with two of his friends, from what I understand he was going to Hattieville to look for his son. My understanding is that he had a blowout and I guess he couldn’t get control of the vehicle and then he collided into a truck that was parked. Out of all my uncles that is the only one that most of my cousins we were close to because he was the one that actually lived right here at my granny. My uncle was the backbone to everything, if you needed something to get done you could always call on him and he would make sure it gets done. Most people know my uncle he was always on this boulevard sitting down and I don’t know, it’s just hard. My uncle was just a loving man. We’re just trying to gather the pieces together just to try to cope in the best way we could.”
Anthony had a son and a daughter. He worked as a handyman, doing various odd jobs.
