Almost two sacks of contraband flour were intercepted by the Belize Coast Guard and the Customs Department. Lieutenant Greg Soberanis tells us more.
“Early this morning, another joint patrol with the Customs unit in Consejo yielded a discovery of uncustomed goods of twenty 20-pound bags of flour and one 100 bag of flour. These items were determined to be uncustomed goods and the individual and items are currently detained by the Coast Guard and custom patrol so as you can see, as was mentioned earlier, the collaboration coordination with our partner agencies have yielded significant results for this reporting period of January 2016. The Coast Guard remains committed to combat elicit and illegal activities in Belize Sea spaces to ensure that the maritime domain remains an area that is free, that is safe and secure for mariners operating within our sea spaces.”
