53 Belize City Traffic Wardens Become Special Constables

Fifty-three traffic wardens from the Belize City Council have officially completed an intensive Enforcement Training Programme through the National Police Training Academy (NPTA).  The month-long program, conducted across two separate two-week cohorts, combined classroom instruction with practical field scenarios to enhance legal knowledge, professional ethics, and daily enforcement skills.  During the closing ceremony, Commissioner of Police Rosado congratulated the participants as they transitioned into their new roles as Special Constables. Commissioner Rosado reminded the graduates that “with great power comes greater responsibility,” emphasizing that their expanded authority must be carried out with discipline, integrity, and respect for public rights.  The training was facilitated by senior NPTA instructors, including Assistant Superintendent Jermaine Hyde, Sergeant Leon Ferguson, and Corporal Maurice Martinez.
