$5K in Cash Stolen from Customs Officer’s Vehicle

A Customs Officer, 41-year-old, Zakir Marin, reported a theft to Ladyville police on Tuesday, July 8.  According to Marin, on Friday, July 4, at approximately 8:30 AM, he parked his grey 2023 GMC Sierra within the compound of his workplace, Amerijet Cargo on Beliken Boulevard, Ladyville Village.  He reported leaving his Columbian school bag inside the vehicle, containing over five thousand dollars in cash along with his licensed firearm. While he was unable to recall whether he had locked the doors to the vehicle, he indicated that upon getting home that evening, he discovered the cash missing from his bag, though the firearm remained.  Initial investigations, including video footage, reportedly show a man approaching Marin’s vehicle, opening it, entering, and then walking away. Police are looking for one Norman Tasher to assist them in the investigations.
