69-Year-Old Man Remanded for Alleged Rape of 11-Year-Old Boy; Trial Set for August

A sixty-nine-year-old man accused of raping an eleven-year-old boy was remanded to prison today.  Henry Steven Hulse appeared in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court charged with one count of rape of a child and one count of assault of a child under the age of 16 by penetration. No plea was taken as the matter will be handled in the High Court on indictment. He was remanded until August 7. The incident reportedly took place earlier this week. At his arraignment, Hulse asked the sitting Magistrate for assistance in securing an attorney.
