A family in the Orange Walk District is mourning the death of their three-month-old baby. The baby was rushed to the Northern Regional Hospital, suffering from a high fever. We are told that the baby had been suffering fever some days, after receiving an injection at village medical clinic. Head of the N.C.I.B., Assistant Commissioner of Police Joseph Myvett shared more details.
ACP Joseph Myvette, Head of National Crimes Investigation Branch: “Taken to the Northern Regional Hospital I believe late last night motionless. The baby had already been said to have been to have received two injections at a village health center I believe it was Friday and ever since then the baby was not well. So when the baby’s mother went to check on him I believe it was late last night she found the baby motionless and as a result the baby was transported to the Northern Regional Hospital. It’s a young child I believe it’s a two or three months old so it would have been to receive some sort of infection probably vaccine. It is normal that when a child receives their first vaccine it is followed by a bout of fever or whatever and that seems to have been the case.”
