After three years of hoping for closure, a family in August Pine Ridge Village, Orange Walk District is one step closer to receiving justice for the death of their loved one. The man who was wanted for this murder is 29-year-old Amin Cho. He was apprehended, arrested, and charged for the murder of 90-year-old Pedro Pol, a shopkeeper who was found bound at the feet, gagged with wounds to the head and body. Police investigators made the arrest recently as explained by Police Commissioner Chester Williams.
ACP Joseph Myvette, Head, National Crimes Investigation Branch: “On today’s date police have since arrested and charged Admin Cho, 29 years Belizean of Guinea Grass Village for the crime of murder. During the police operation over the weekend Admin Cho was detained in Guinea Grass Village. We’re of the opinion that he was not around because several efforts had been made to catch up with him during that period of investigation.”
Reporter: Now I ask because there is the report that he may have been in Botes, if that is the case are you all looking at any issue that he may have to be quarantined as well ?
ACP Joseph Myvette, Head, National Crimes Investigation Branch: “Well if the investigation so suggestions but as I mentioned to you he was caught in Guinea Grass and not Botes.”
Pol was found dead inside his shop on June 15, 2017. Investigators believe the motive may have been robbery.
