A teen who escaped from police custody while being transported to prison has been recaptured. Last Thursday, 18-year-old Aaron Chavez was convicted of theft and was to be remanded to the Belize Central Prison. However, while being transported in the back of a police mobile, Chavez jumped out of the pan near mile 8 on the George Price Highway. After a few days on the run, police recaptured the West Collet Canal resident on Sunday. Chavez was initially to be remanded until July 25 but he is now likely to be charged for his escape from police.
