Accused Rapist Out on Bail, Preliminary Inquiry Set for January

The man accused of raping a 17-year-old minor bear Eruption Night Club last year is out on bail.  Twenty-six-year-old Michael Flowers appeared in the Belize City Magistrate’ Court today for his preliminary inquiry.  The prosecution submitted a total of 28 witness statements and eighteen documentary exhibits into evidence. The court ruled that Flowers, has a case to answer to and set the matter to be heard in the High Court of Belize on January 17, 2024. Flowers, who was unrepresented was offered bail in the sum of ten thousand dollars plus sureties of the same, which he met late this evening. The incident happened in October 2022. Following the incident, the proprietors of Eruption Nightclub were also arrested.
