ACP Albert Charlery of the Royal St.Lucia Police Force wins Top Caribbean Career Award

When more than two dozen police commissioners converged in Belize this week, it was an exciting time for law-enforcement, tourism and the country.  It was the first time that the regional police association held its annual award ceremony in Belize. On the 4-day agenda for the Association of Caribbean Commissioners of Police (ACCP) was an award ceremony. The event was geared at recognizing three outstanding Police Officers from member countries of the ACCP. Winner of the Top Caribbean Career Award was Assistant Commissioner Albert Charlery of the Royal St. Lucia Police Force who spoke about receiving the honor and the importance of the conference.

Albert Charlery, Winner, Top Caribbean Career Award: “My dream is to climb up the ladder of success and yes ladies and gentlemen you must believe me when I say yo you that I truly want to be the best. I want to be the best not just for myself but for all people that I have the occasion to serve. It is in humility that I accept this award tonight. I want to begin by first acknowledging the brilliance of Amalgamated Security Services Limited for conceptualizing the regional awards program.Their focus was not just on customers but allowing the police to benefit from the company’s corporate spirit. For this I say a big thank you. Special thanks to the panel of judges who had the challenging task of deliberating and arriving at the best submissions to be recognized in a very special way I would like to say thank you. The Commissioner of Police for the Royal St.Lucia Police Force I also want to say thank you for nominating me and to stand here proudly tonight. The motivation to serve and to do it with distinction was further enhanced by those officers who went before me and who have benefited from these awards. I want to give you the assurance that I will continue to aim for the stars as I discharge my duties.”

The event began on Monday and ended yesterday.
