Activist Lisa Shoman discusses culture of sexual assault in military forces

Activist and Attorney Lisa Shoman took to social media yesterday, along with other Belizeans, to demand transparency from the Belize Defence Force (BDF) as it relates to the investigations of sexual assault allegations within the ranks. She discussed the culture of rape and sexual assault within military forces, not only in Belize, but in other countries as well.

Activist and Attorney Lisa Shoman took to social media yesterday, along with other Belizeans, to demand transparency from the Belize Defence Force (BDF) as it relates to the investigations of sexual assault allegations within the ranks. She discussed the culture of rape and sexual assault within military forces, not only in Belize, but in other countries as well. She also spoke on gross behaviours within our own military service.

Shoman is urging Belizeans to continue demanding that the BDF release the report of the investigation, with the names of the victims redacted.
