Adam Joseph pleaded guilty to handling stolen goods

25-year-old Adam Joseph, a technician of Belize City  was accused of pawning a woman’s stolen jewellery. Joseph appeared before Magistrate Emmerson Banner where he pleaded guilty to the single charge of handling stolen goods. For his guilty plea, Magistrate Banner imposed a non-custodial sentence and fined him five hundred dollars plus five dollars cost of court to be paid by October 31.  Allegations are that on Wednesday, August 29, Joseph dishonestly assisted in the disposal of a pair of gold earrings and a gold medal valued at a total of five hundred dollars, property of Martha Novelo.  Novelo told police that at about 3:45 a.m., on August 28, someone burglarized her house and stole an assortment of jewelry valued at forty-one thousand and seven hundred dollars.
