Adjournments Continue in Trial of Former Cop Elmer Nah for Belmopan Triple Homicide

Former Cop Elmer Nah returned to the Belmopan Magistrate Court this morning for the triple homicide case of David, Jon, and Viviane Ramnarace but there was no magistrate to hear the matter. On New Year’s night, the victims were socializing at Jon and Viviane’s Belmopan home when a lone gunman unleashed a deadly assault on them. David and Jon died on the scene, and Viviane succumbed fifteen days in the hospital. Nah is believed to be the triggerman and was to receive full disclosure today, but the magistrate was on leave. Deon Pascasio, one of Viviane’s relatives, says the case is constantly adjourned and shared his frustration on the matter.

Dean Pascasio, Relative of Vivian Belisle: “It is disappointing. We didn’t know anything until this morning we found that out coming here. And it’s disappointing for us yes because we were hoping that we would have been able to move to another stage for the full disclosure and everything would have happened today and then that would have may be one step closer to going to trial if anything but right now as it stands we’re here again and unfortunately this is the system we’re dealing with and because of that we just have to work with the system but one of the things I’d like to say though we’re a law abiding family and so we will work with the system, work through the system and give the system the opportunity to work. We know our faith and trust is in God almighty, he’s the ultimate judge and he is the one in whose our faith or trust is that we will get justice and he says he’s going to take care of business and so that’s is where our main hope lies but you know where the system is concerned it was a our hope that today would have been a major milestone for the case but you know we continue to hold strong in faith and trust in God.”

The matter was adjourned to January 26.
