Two men, 39 year old Alston Adolphus and 35 year old Dean Cain, were charged with drug trafficking for 4.1 kilograms of cannabis when they appeared today before Senior Magistrate Sharon Fraser. They pled not guilty to the charge. They were released on bails of $6,000 each and their case was adjourned until February 23. The incident occurred December 16. Police reports are that the men were travelling in a vehicle heading towards Belize City when they were stopped by members of the Gang Suppression Unit in Ladyville. According to the police when they asked Adolphus, who was sitting in the passenger side of the vehicle, if he had anything to declare, Adolphus told them that cannabis was in the spare tire of the vehicle. The said when they searched the spare tire they found the cannabis inside.
