AG Michael Peyrefitte says he has responded to the unions

AG ON UNCAC

Attorney General Michael Peyrefitte says he has responded to the unions regarding the United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC).  The finalization of the first phase of UNCAC and the start of its second phase was one of the six demands that the NTUCB placed on the Government.

Attorney General Michael Peyrefitte says he has responded to the unions regarding the United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC).  The finalization of the first phase of UNCAC and the start of its second phase was one of the six demands that the NTUCB placed on the Government.  Yesterday afternoon when we spoke with the NTUCB’s President, Marvin Mora, he says that he had not gotten any feedback from the government.  Peyrefitte, however, says he did reach out to them.

Hon.Michael Peyrefitte, Attorney General/Minister of National Security: “I wrote them back a letter and they haven’t responded. I told them that we have to wait for the final report, the United Nations themselves have advised us to wait on the final report but I told them they can come to me now if they want and discuss the summary report but they have not responded to me.”.

Another demand that is on its way to being met is the launch of a criminal investigation against John Saldivar.  It is not an independent investigation as the unions are calling for but according to the Attorney General a local investigation will do just fine.
