On Saturday, representatives from religions across the country gathered at the Masjid Noor Mosque in Belize City, participating in the annual World Religions Conference. The event, organised by the Ahmadiyya (ah-ma-dee-ya) Muslim Jama’at (jah-mat), brought together people from various creeds to discuss the importance of restoring peace in the country’s communities. Love News spoke with the organisation’s Lead Missionary for Cayo, Stann Creek and Toledo, Ata’Ul (ata-ool) Haq (hack) Gabb about why discussions like this for the religious community are critical.
While the Ahmadiyya community sees itself as a catalyst to broker change in our communities, we also asked Gabb to respond to the criticism that much of the challenges we face today are because of organised religion.
The event ended on Saturday.
