Education Minister Francis Fonseca announced today that while it has been a very challenging year, the reopening of all schools for face to face instruction is looking more of a reality. Minister Fonseca underscored the importance of getting students back into the classrooms.
Hon. Francis Fonseca, Minister of Education: “It’s been a very challenging year but we are on the road to fully reopening all of our schools. It’s very important, Madam Speaker. It’s critically important to get our students back into the classroom. It’s not only important for their academic development but also for their social and psychological development, equally as important. So I am very very happy that we have had a united front in moving forward to achieving this objective. It’s been very challenging but we are well on our way. We are well over, we are close to achieving 90% of our schools back open for face to face instruction and certainly, by the time the new school year rolls around in August, all of our schools, all of our schools at every level will be opened five days a week for face to face instruction.”
