Alleged Purse Snatcher Granted Bail: Faces Theft Charges

An alleged purse snatcher from Belize City is out on bail tonight. Twenty-three-year-old Julian Woodye appeared in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court today charged with a single count of theft. He pleaded not guilty and was offered bail in the sum of two thousand dollars, which he met. Woodye stands accused of stealing a woman’s purse on Saturday, March 2, which contained cash and other valuables to a total value of over sixteen hundred dollars. He is due back in court on April 4.
