An American national who resides in Caye Caulker along with a medical assistant of Santa Elena Town, Cayo District have been charged with possession of controlled drug with intent to supply to another. 43-year-old, John David de Leon and 27-year-old, Louany Kareen Ulloa (oo-yo-ah) were detained by Police yesterday afternoon just before two o’clock. Love News understands that San Ignacio Police intercepted the gold Chevy Suburban SUV the duo was traveling in and conducted a search of the vehicle in their presence at the police station. The search reportedly yielded 2 black plastic bags containing forty-four white boxes marked, Oxykon Plus. A total of eight hundred and eight tablets were found inside the bag. Both de Leon and Ulloa were unable to produce an official prescription or permit for the drug and were subsequently arrested and charged. Information to our newsroom indicate that de Leon explained to the Police that he obtained the pills for his personal consumption for a man who comes from Guatemala illegally into Belize.
