American National Convicted of Immigration Offense, Faces Deportation

An American national will be deported back to his home country after being convicted of an immigration offense earlier today. Thirsty-seven-year-old Charles Miller appeared in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court where he was read a single charge of failure to present self to an Immigration Officer upon place of arrival. Miller pleaded guilty to the offense and was fined a thousand dollars plus five dollars cost of court which he was ordered to pay forthwith or face three months in prison. The Immigration Department also filed for a removal order against him which was granted. Miller entered Belize on Thursday, July 13, via an area in Santa Elena Town.
