American Tourist Dies During Dive Trip Off Lighthouse Reef

A tragic incident yesterday led to an American tourist losing his life during a diving expedition at Lighthouse Reef. According to police, 70-year-old John Garraway, a veteran dive master from Belize City, was supervising a group of 18 certified divers when the incident occurred around 8 o’clock. One of the divers, 45-year-old Sagar Dhanasekhar was later spotted floating motionless in the water, approximately 40 yards from the dive boat. Efforts were made to revive the resident of North Carolina through CPR, but they were unsuccessful. Dhanasekhar was pronounced dead at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. Authorities say no signs of physical violence were found on the body, which now awaits a post-mortem examination at the KHMH morgue. The investigation continues as police look into the circumstances surrounding the death.
