An American national is listed in a critical condition after he fell from atop the Altun Ha Maya site in Lucky Strike Village, Belize District. 36-year-old, Bryan Goeders came into Belize yesterday on the Carnival Dream cruise ship and had opted to go on a tour with Chukka Tour Company to Altun Ha. Just before one o’clock yesterday afternoon, however, the tragedy occurred when Goeders lost balance and fell face forward from the A1 Plaza. According to a person in the area, the ambulance took over an hour to arrive at the site and told Love News that she believes that an ambulance should be strategically posted particularly on cruise ship days. Goeders, who is from Iowa, USA suffered abrasions to the forehead, dizziness, nose bleeding and throat pains. He was taken to the Belize Medical Associates where further examinations revealed that Goeders had a broken jaw, bruised lungs, a crushed liver and bleeding to the brain. Reports are that authorities are making arrangements to have him flown out of Belize for further treatment although we were informed that he is currently on life support.
