Amir ‘Kingmir’ Rudon Crowned BBDC National Lightweight Champion in Thrilling Bout
Belizean boxer Amir ‘Kingmir’ Rudon emerged victorious in a thrilling clash against Chetumal’s Gaspar “Tremendo” Gomez in the National Lightweight championships this weekend at the Swift Hall. The Tres Reyes Boxing Promotions under the Belize Boxing Development Council (BBDC) brought boxing enthusiasts three professional and two exhibition bouts. In the co-main event, Belizean Ivan ‘The Diamond’ Baeza was able to overcome a second-round knockdown and defeated Mexico’s Ricardo Pantoja by unanimous decision. All three judges scored the bout 38-37 in favor of Baeza. And in the main event, Belize City native, Amir ‘Kingmir’ Rudon knocked out Chetumal’s Gaspar Gomez at 1:26 seconds of the third round with a perfectly crafted right uppercut and left hook to the liver. With this victory, Rudon was crowned as the new BBDC National Lightweight champion. Kingmir told Love News that he will continue to strive in his career and make the country proud.
