Dozens of boys, girls, and women from Orange Walk Town are learning to bring their ideas to life through animation. This morning, an Animation Boot Camp for Belizean Women was launched at the Orange Walk Technical High School. The initiative is taking place in various municipalities and is the brainchild of the Prime Minister’s Office. The camp is centered on stimulating the country’s Orange Economy and empowering women by teaching them to create animations. Prime Minister John Briceno spoke about the importance of the venture and why he felt it was important to engage his constituents.
The National Women’s Commission is supporting the camps and hopes the participants will be able to economically benefit from the basic animation training. President of the NWC Thea Garcia Ramirez spoke about the expected outcomes and how the women can use the program to let their imaginations run wild.
The camps are being funded by the Embassy and People of the Republic of China (Taiwan).
