Since March 20 when the first Covid-19 case was confirmed there have been one hundred and seventy-six more confirmed cases around the country.  The latest information out of the Ministry of Health came last night indicating that twenty-three new cases were uncovered yesterday.  According to the Director of Health Services, Dr. Marvin Manzanero, these recent twenty-three cases came out of a batch of one hundred and forty-four samples that were processed.  The twenty-three new registered cases show three new cases in Belmopan; two of them linked to the previously identified patient in that municipality while the third is linked to a case in San Pedro Town.  There are also three news cases in the Orange Walk District; one in Santa Marta Village and one in Orange Town.  Caye Caulker is seeing its first registered case, but health officials are yet to establish a connection with previously identified patients.  Belize City now has five more cases; one of them has yet to be linked with any previous case while four others have been traced to other identified cases.  Meanwhile, an additional twelve cases have been uncovered on Ambergris Caye.  Love News understands that there are at least one hundred and fifty-six samples being processed today.  The results of those are expected to be released late this evening.
