Police have made arrests in two of three murders that occurred on Wednesday in Belize City. 27-year-old Valentine Orlando Baptist has been charged for the murder of Devin Parham. Parham was gunned down as he was walking with another man on Cemetery Road on Wednesday afternoon. The perpetrator rode up behind the duo and fired several shots, fatally injuring Parham. The second person escaped unharmed. Baptist appeared before Senior Magistrate Sharon Fraser today. He was also charged with kept firearm without a gun license. The allegation is that on July 6 he kept one black Glock nine millimeter pistol. He was remanded into custody until August 26. Parham’s murder was the second in less than two hours. Earlier that afternoon, Tevin Palmer was shot and killed. Police believe the man who pulled the trigger was 18-year-old Lionel Hector Kelly. Palmer was socializing inside a house on Kelly Street when he was shot and killed. Kelly appeared before Magistrate Carlon Mendoza today and was remanded into custody until September 8. Police say the two murders are connected.
