Atlantic Bank says the US dollar exchange rate now fixed at two dollars Belize

Atlantic Bank Limited has issued a public notice regarding the exchange with US currency. According to the bank, effective Tuesday, May 2, the buying rate of one US dollar is now fixed at two dollars Belize. The announcement comes on the heels of the Central Bank of Belize issuing a statement saying that the fixed rate is in accordance with Regulation 32 of the Exchange Control Regulations 2021. The Central Bank of Belize will now buy the US dollar at the fixed rate of two dollars Belize, and will sell at two point zero-zero-six-three for every US dollar. Authorized dealers around the country will buy at the fixed rate mentioned, but should sell at the rate of two point zero-one-seven-five. In its statement, the Central Bank of Belize advises the general public to ensure that their transactions involving the buying or selling of the US Dollar be done with an authorized dealer as is stipulated under the Money Laundering and Terrorism Prevention Act, 2020.
