ATM Robbery Investigation: Police Probing Possibility of it being an Inside Job

Investigators are probing into whether last week’s brazen robbery of an ATM in Belize City was an inside job. Last Thursday, a group of masked men targeted the machine belonging to Heritage Bank at the PUMA gas station corner of Faber’s Road and the George Price Highway. The men hooked a chain to the machine and pulled it out of the building with a van before loading it up and driving away. Commissioner of Police Chester Williams says investigators have been making progress and have identified suspects.

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police: “I know the police do have some leads. There are certain persons that are being sought by the police who we believe may be able to assist with information that may be able to solve that crime. There are several issues that we see that do not make sense and while we have our own suspicion we will have to await the investigation result to see who is culpable. We are hoping that we will be able to,  we will be able to get persons who can come forward and provide us with the relevant information to be able to make an arrest in that particular matter.”
