Attorney General Magali Marin-Young Steps Down, Reflects on Legislative Achievements

Attorney General, Magali Marin-Young served her last day in office today, after having decided to return to her private practice.  She has been dubbed, by many of her colleagues, including former Attorney General Francis Fonseca, as being one of the best the country has seen.  Last night, she spoke exclusively to Love News on her experiences over the last two and a half years in office.  Tonight, we bring to you her take on the most important pieces of legislation for Belize that was drafted during her tenure, and is currently in the pipeline to be enacted.

The Civil Assets and Recovery Bill is one that Marin-Young says was crucial for the country as not only does it puts us closer in fulfilling the requirements of UNCAC, but it also serves as another barrier to improper enrichment.

Tune in next week, as we hear more from Marin-Young when it comes to Vital Stats, Belipo, the judiciary, and more.
