Attorney Orson Elrington Ordered to Pay Compensation; Pastor Dozie Awaits Payment

Pastor Dozie – he is the man that filed a complaint against Attorney Orson Elrington over professional misconduct.  Elrington was found guilty by the General Legal Council and has been ordered to pay a fine of fifteen thousand dollars, and the compensation owed to Dozie of just over 46 thousand dollars.  In an interview with Elrington on Tuesday, he indicated that the monies have been paid, but according to Dozie, he is yet to receive any money.  It is to be noted that the GLC has given Elrington a deadline of Friday, July 19 to pay the monies to Dozie.  Dozie spoke with Love News yesterday, and confirmed that he did not receive any of the monies owed to him nor has he been in communication with Elrington.

Pastor Dozie, Challenges SSB Death Benefits: “We are satisfied that justice had been served in this regard, in this specific instance.”

Reporter: It was never your intention to maybe get him disbarred or anything like that to stop practicing law ? You just wanted the money that you were wronged ? 

Pastor Dozie, Challenges SSB Death Benefits: “Right. Right.”

Reporter: Have you spoken with Mr.Elrington since the ruling ? 

Pastor Dozie, Challenges SSB Death Benefits: “No. No. Categorically no.”

Reporter: So I think about day or two ago Mr.Elrington gave an interview where he stated that the monies have already been paid to you, is that true ? 

Pastor Dozie, Challenges SSB Death Benefits: “Up until we’re speaking me personally no.”

Reporter: So monies have been paid to you as yet ?

Pastor Dozie, Challenges SSB Death Benefits: “To me personally on. I’m sure that the General Legal Council they’re very clear in their sanction and he ought to comply.”

Reporter: So just to be clear no monies have been paid to you as yet ?  

Pastor Dozie, Challenges SSB Death Benefits: “Up until we’re speaking no I have not received anything. Something like this most people would let it go. They would give up because it is grueling. Let me be specific, I’m talking about a mental and emotional attack and just your mind just being under constant attack that’s what an ordeal like this does to someone. But in my case fortunately I give God the glory, I say this all to the glory of God in my case because, and I make no this is not a secret I’m very blunt that it is my relationship with Jesus Christ that is the source of my courage, my encouragement, my boldness, my inspiration, determination to take this to the end.”

Another aspect of the case that Dozie addressed was the claim by Elrington that he (Dozie) had agreed to a settlement from the Social Security Board.  Dozie has gone as far as referring to the attorney as a liar.  

Reporter: Did you agree to a settlement verbally with SSB ? 

Pastor Dozie, Challenges SSB Death Benefits: “No that’s a…..again another good question and I’m going to answer that question plainly as I always do, explicitly that’s the word. I’m here to say categorically and unequivocally-that gentleman and I never had, never had a conversation. I never agreed to that settlement. Never. Not verbally, neither in writing and that individual ought to know better because he is an attorney. I’m stating to repeat one more time I’m saying categorically and unequivocally I never verbally or in writing agreed to that settlement.”

Dozie has been pursuing justice in this matter since 2021 just after his wife died.  He told Love News that it was a situation that caused him much stress as he was still coping with the death of his wife, as well as the constitutional wrongdoing by the Social Security Board which had refused to give him the death benefits, compounded by Elrington’s unprofessionalism.  As we reported on Tuesday, the General Legal Council has also recommended that a forensic investigation be done on the possible forgery of Dozie’s signature on an engagement letter that was presented during the investigation.
