As we wrapped up our interview with Orson Elrington this evening, it would have been remiss of us to not ask him to weigh in on the turbulent few months he has been having recently. Elrington has been at the center of a rape allegation and was charged on March 8 after two women filed a police complaint saying that one of them was raped by the attorney on January 11 at his Belize City home. More recently, very private and sexual videos were released into the public domain involving several women, and then came the ruling from the General Legal Council. It has been quite a hit for the legal practitioner, one that he says are filled with lessons he is determined to learn from.

Orson “OJ” Elrington, Attorney: “I’ve always said that you in every situation, in every issue that you face it’s an opportunity for you to grow. It’s an opportunity for you, it’s a lesson and so in every situation it is just to try to find that lesson. The almighty presents these lessons for us and although at the moment we might not clearly be able to see the lesson once we’re able to see the lesson, once we’re able to arrive at how we can grow then we can be better people, better professionals, better all around.”
In the process, Elrington has also lost his status of UDP caretaker for the Freetown division.
