Love News has confirmed that the Avian Influenza virus has been detected in another poultry farm in the Orange Walk District. Late this evening, our newsroom spoke with Dr. Miguel Depaz, BAHA’s Director of Animal Health Department, who stated that the virus has been detected in both the Blue Creek and Shipyard Communities. According to Depaz, BAHA conducted PCR testing in poultry samples today that detected antibodies of the virus. . The news will undoubtedly send jolts of concern in Orange Walk Town which is one of the few municipalities where freshly slaughtered poultry can be purchased.
