Banquitas House of Culture Observes All Souls Day in Orange Walk

The Banquitas House of Culture in Orange Walk hosted an event in observation of All Souls Day.   In many parts of the world, All Souls Day, is a day that is set aside by Roman Catholics to commemorate all the faithfully departed. A display was set up at the House of Culture in Orange Walk where schools were invited to see an exhibit on the celebration.  Cindy Rivero, Coordinator at the Banquitas House spoke on the importance of this day.

Cindy adds that after the exhibition for the students, they hosted their annual prayers dedicated to their loved ones. She thanked the community for their continuous support and for keeping the Maya- mestizo tradition alive.
