BAPDA supports EOB

BAPDA ON EOB

Many organizations have been voicing their opinions on the Equal Opportunities Bill. Religious organizations in particular have come out against the bill. At its core, the bill is designed to eliminate discrimination regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, etc. One group that the bill also targets are those with disabilities.  It is a Bill that the Belize Association of Persons with Diverse Abilities supports fully.

Roxanne Marin, President, Belize Assembly for Persons with Diverse Abilities: “BAPDA supports the Equal Opportunities Bill. This bill speaks to our population specifically in terms of education, in terms of hate crimes, in terms of transportation and health and so Belize Assembly for Persons with Diverse Abilities and our members undertake the Equal Opportunities Bill in full support.”

Many organizations have asked for a revision of the bill. It is not certain what the next step will be but we are following the developments.
