The International Day for Biological Diversity is being celebrated under the theme: “Building a shared future for all life”. The Second Committee of the UN General Assembly proclaimed May 22 as the official day to promote the understanding and awareness of biodiversity issues. In commemoration of this day, the Belize Audubon Society (BAS) visited a couple of primary schools in Belize City to educate them about the importance of biodiversity day.
International Day for Biological Diversity was established on December 29, 1993.
