The Belmopan Active Youths, BAY, will be hosting its third annual Arts Festival at the Belmopan Civic Center on Saturday, November 25. Co-Founder and Executive Director of BAY, Anna Banner Guy along with Coordinator of the Festival David Smith stopped by our studios to share why you should stop by.
“The youths are very innovative so they come up with all different arts that I didn’t even know exist. So we’ll have from interior decorating to musical artists, performing arts, visual arts. Belmopan in itself is traditionally and generally a safe environment and family friendly. It’s a day event and were right next to the police station so we have enough security and everybody is going to be safe at the art festival so we encourage all Belmopan and beyond to come out. It’s a family-friendly event. We are asking that you bring out the entire family. It’s also an educational and cultural event so we know that anyone coming out will be learning something new that day. We are a youth organization and we have several different programs. Most of the programs we started were started by the youths themselves. They see the need for it and they suggest and we see how best we can partner with the community and with different stakeholders to have these programs happening.”
The festival begins at 10 o’clock in the morning and ends at 5 o’clock in the evening.
