Police have charged Jerry O’Hara David for the road traffic incident that claimed the life of fifty-two year old Andres Diego Senior. David has been charged with manslaughter by negligence, causing death by careless conduct and drove without due care and attention. The incident took place on Sunday night around 6:40. Police report that David, a Coast Guard Officer, was driving a Civic Honda car on the Hummingbird Highway and was accompanied at the time by his common-law wife and a police officer. David told police that between miles ten and eleven he saw someone in the middle of the road. At that same moment, the bright lights of an oncoming vehicle blinded him and caused him to collide into the person. Diego Senior sustained head and body injuries and succumbed to those injuries.
