A branch of the National Security Force, the Belize Defense Force (BDF), celebrated its forty-second anniversary on Saturday, February 1. This day highlights a day in the life of a BDF soldier. Its purpose is to acknowledge all the efforts that the soldiers have done to protect our country. There were activities for the entire family, as well as military displays, and more. The event commenced at 8am through to 6pm. Love News attended the event and spoke to Lieutenant Coronel Anthony Velasquez, the coordinator of the event. He mentioned the different activities that the BDF organize every year for the public.
The funds that were earned go directly towards the welfare of the soldiers and their families.
The annual BDF day event took place at the Price Barracks in Ladyville Village. The day concluded with a traditional dance that featured live entertainment from six in the evening to the wee hours of Sunday morning.
