BDF Officer Cadet Graduates from Prestigious UK Military Academy

The Belize Defence Force’s very own Officer Cadet Alex Jimenez has joined an elite number of Belizeans to walk through the famous steps after graduating. For 44 weeks, Jimenez was pushed to his limits  mentally and physically, overcoming every single “British weather condition”, enduring task, Estimate and Orders Process, countless training exercises and plenty of adventure and fun that came along the way.   To mark the occasion, Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, was the inspecting officer at Friday’s parade.  The High Commissioner of Belize Therese Rath along with Belizean born British serving members Warrant Officer Class 2 Staff Sergeant Major Heredia and Squadron Quartermaster Sergeant Robinson were all at hand to show their support and gratitude for Officer Cadet Jimenez.  Jimenez returned to Belize over the weekend to his home town of Corozal with his family and friends.  The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS) is where all officers in the British Army are trained to take on the responsibility of leading their soldiers. During training, all officer cadets learn to live by the academy’s motto: Serve to Lead.
