BDF Staff Sergeant in Police Custody Amid Shooting Incident Investigation

The BDF Staff Sergeant Alfonso Williams who was being sought by Police for questioning is now in Police detention.  According to a source, he will be interviewed tomorrow at which point it will be determined if charges will be levied.  Yesterday, we told you that Williams is a person of interest who may be able to shed light on a shooting incident that occurred at Fairweather Camp in Punta Gorda Town, Toledo District.  Just after five o’clock Monday evening, Williams is said to have fired shots at the camp, using his personal firearm.  We understand that while several witnesses on the camp have given account of the incident, investigators are yet to determine the circumstances leading to the incident.  No one was injured and it is yet to be ascertained if the weapon used is licensed.  Reports indicate that four shots were fired in the air in front of the Sergeants’ Mess Hall.  We will keep following this story as it develops further.
